It's been too long since I've kept up with my blog.

I'm so glad that this post helped you. You are definitely not alone in dealing with performance anxiety. I think juries are even more anxiety producing. I can say with certainty that I'm glad I haven't had to do one in a very long time.

I hope you're still doing music and finding joy in doing whatever it is you're doing!

All the best,
EricaErica Ann Sipeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13526622607656348353noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7048025771349159983.post-70685274514464847992017-11-26T23:48:28.130-05:002017-11-26T23:48:28.130-05:00Hi, sorry to comment on an old article but reading...Hi, sorry to comment on an old article but reading this SERIOUSLY helped me. I'm a flute minor with a concentration in performance and, in spite of my chosen concentration, I have TERRIBLE performance anxiety. I've been freaking out non-stop about my jury exam next week, and reading this has helped ease a lot of my fears. My favorite bits of advice were to remember that juries are to measure my progress, and to not see my jurors as a firing squad. Thank you so much for writing this! I'll be taking a look at your performance anxiety articles next!Leanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7048025771349159983.post-91108481491075468502011-05-07T12:47:36.512-04:002011-05-07T12:47:36.512-04:00Nice article, thanks for the information.Nice article, thanks for the information.sewa mobilhttp://griyamobilkita.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7048025771349159983.post-74893682773649001122011-05-05T08:25:57.990-04:002011-05-05T08:25:57.990-04:00Thank you, Bob. It leads the musician to realistic thinking about the purpose and meaning of the performance. And I love your question "What's the worst that could happen?" It's so true...a performer's catastrophizing is full of really vague doomsday scenarios. If forced to really think it out, they can realize that it's VERY unlikely anything horrible will happen. Great stuff!

BobBob Woodyhttp://beingmusicalbeinghuman.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7048025771349159983.post-90162858770343332962011-05-04T15:01:12.677-04:002011-05-04T15:01:12.677-04:00You're so welcome, Petronel.
