Although having physical issues and pain can be challenging I do think it can be a bit of a blessing in disguise. Your experience with solving your own issues is clearly benefitting your own students in addition to yourself and I think that's fantastic! And yes, "knowledge is power!"

Here's to a lifelong habit of learning.

All the best,
EricaErica Ann Sipeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13526622607656348353noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7048025771349159983.post-53373304324418474762014-06-12T11:19:03.501-04:002014-06-12T11:19:03.501-04:00Thank you for sharing your experience. My undergrad brain was not fully prepared to assimilate everything that was being taught but I could see where it made sense. I had some issues (pain) in grad school that forced me to look at how I was playing, as clearly, something(s) I was doing was wrong. That awareness brought me on a journey that not only solved my physical issues but it opened my eyes to my own students and how they physically approach music. Knowledge is power! It's encouraging to hear how other pianists/musicans have worked out their challenges and come out the other side with a wealth of knowledge and experience. But it also says a lot that so many people feel so strongly about the benefits of the technique that they want to teach it themselves. Thank you for being one of those people!

-EricaErica Ann Sipeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13526622607656348353noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7048025771349159983.post-81321558430710281192014-06-11T21:43:18.924-04:002014-06-11T21:43:18.924-04:00Great post!
